With the warmer weather (finally) coming back, there is no better time to break out refreshing smoothie recipes. We love drinking smoothies in the morning for breakfast (or really any time of day!) because it’s a great way to kick off the day with some protein, greens, healthy fats, and antioxidants. The base recipe can be modfied with some or all of the additonal ingredients. Have fun and experiment. Enjoy!

Base Ingredients:

  • 1 cup spinach or kale (lacinto is our favorite)
  •  ½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries or mixed berries 
  • 1 cup unsweetened nut or oat milk, raw cow or goat milk if you can find it, organic full fat milk if you tolerate dairy
  • 1 tablespoon almond, cashew or sunflower seed butter 
  • 1 fresh or frozen banana

Additional Ingredient Ideas:

  • 1-2 scoops of collagen powder (great source of extra protein)
  • 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed or hemp seeds
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds 
  • Shredded coconut or coconut oil (addiitonal healthy fats)
  • 1/4-1/2 ripe avocado (addional healthy fats)
  • Fresh ginger (warm it up to be easier on your digestion)
  • Dash of cinnamon (warm it up to be easier on your digestion)
  • Squeeze of lemon (brings some brightness to the smoothie)
