Dr. Marya Deda is now accepting patients with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Ash, Cigna, First Choice, Kaiser, Kaiser CHP (self-referred), Moda, Pacific Source, Providence, Regence BCBS, and Triwest/Wholehealth. She is also accepting Wellness Plan, patients without insurance and those needing treatment for a motor vehicle accident or work related injury.
Dr. Marya has experience treating a wide variety of complaints and has a passion for: Sports injuries, Enhancing sport performance, Mental health issues ranging from stress to multi mental health diagnoses, Menopause support, and Digestive health.
Currently treats patients ages 12 and up.
Dr. Marya likes to consider all aspects affecting your life and put together a plan of care for patients therefore has studied a broad range of modalities.
A graduate of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Marya earned both a doctoral degree and master’s degree in acupuncture and East Asian medicine. Specializing in traditional and five element acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and Zen Shiatsu, she has over twenty years of experience.
As an avid climber, she understands the importance of sport performance and how acupuncture can help both execution and endurance.
Dr. Marya is also certified in orthopedic acupuncture, a master of Aroma Acupoint Therapy, and upon completion of training in 2012, a skilled Qi Gong teacher, practicing several Ling Gui style qi gong forms.
A dedicated student of Chinese herbs, she received a Diplomat in East Asian Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine. And in 2010-2011, she completed an in-depth study of Shang Han Lun/Jing Gui, two ancient Chinese herbal texts and therapies focused on enhancing healing benefits found in plant medicine. Dr. Marya also completed two externships with Dr. Lee Chen-Yr, one of Taiwan’s most renown Chinese medicine doctors. The externship focused on advanced acupuncture techniques as well as herbal formulas for complex illnesses, autoimmune illnesses, stroke and cancer.
The overarching focus of Dr. Marya’s practice has been resolving pain and discomfort caused by imbalance. This includes motor-vehicle-accident related pain, sports injuries, chronic headaches and other chronic pain, irregular and painful menstruation, allergies, asthma, digestive problems, fatigue, as well as a variety of mental health and emotional issues.
